A good week or a bad week?

This week brought about some major ups and downs so I am not sure if it was a good week or a bad week. 

The week was wonderful starting out as we celebrated Emmie's 3rd birthday on Sunday. Monday afternoon, Adeline came down with the stomach bug along with Melanie and Thorsten. Thus, we canceled the birthday gathering for Tuesday, which was Emmie's actual birthday.  I still decorated the apartment on Monday evening, so when Emmie awoke there were more decorations and some presents for her to open on her actual birthday. 

A restful Tuesday morning aside from Emmie's birthday excitement and Adeline was feeling better. While the girls were having lunch outside, our neighbors across the street brought over decorated cupcakes for Emmie and Adeline in celebration. The girls enjoy talking to Heinrich from our garden to his 2nd floor window throughout the day. 

At lunchtime on Tuesday, I also received a call that Eric's iphone was in at the store. The bad part was they would not hold it till Thursday, which meant in the heat (it has been in the 90s), we would take an unplanned bus trip to the store. Since Eric's visits to the cellphone store have lasted for hours, I packed a lunchbox and an activity for the girls. We were on our way with not knowing how long to expect to stay there, except probably a long time as this new iphone would have to be registered under me and my Visa is only good for 1 year. If you recall, it took over 4 hours for Eric to get me my cheap cell phone with his 3 year Visa and numerous paperwork. Arriving at the store, we waited a few minutes and then we got the same lady who worked with Eric.  She put in the initial requirements from my visa and bank  to get an approval and within a few minutes, we had a phone number. This meant I had been approved for the new iphone with a contract. I still am not sure what took Eric 4 plus hours to get a contract when I did it within 10 minutes, but I was not about to question it. I had her turn on the phone to make sure it worked and then us gals went shopping as we had lots of time to spare till the next bus.

Tuesday afternoon to Thursday morning, I caught the stomach bug. Thankfully, the girls were really good and let me rest. In addition, it has been hot here, so the meals have been light and easy. By Thursday evening, I felt much better to sit with them outside as they played in the pool. 

Friday we pick up our rental car, so it should be an eventful day for us.
