Weekend with Wendels

Melanie and I planned to go shopping on Saturday morning, so the dads were on their own with the girls. Melanie asked me if I would like to accompany her to a name brand only children's clothing bazaar. Since she is pregnant, she is able to get in early with one other person, so this was a bonus. We found the church and had to wait a few minutes as there were already many pregnant ladies inside shopping. Once we entered, there were tables stacked high of clothes sorted by size. As I was sorting through the clothes, I found it interesting the many GAP clothes. I did find an entire Esprit outfit for Adeline that would have cost me just the price of the cardigan sweater at the store and one piece still had the tags on it. Melanie found a bagful of items for her girls as well, plus her little one to arrive early next year. We made our way out, just as the general public was being admitted in.

When I got home, I learned that Eric had run into Thorsten while shopping at the market downtown and they mentioned for us getting together in the afternoon. After a phone call, us girls sorted out the time, and then it was determined we would go to the animal park in Wiesbaden.

We arrived at the park and the girls were excited to see the little animals. We did see the big bear this time, even though the sign stated it should have already been in it's pen for the evening. All of the girls thought it was neat to see the bear walking close to our viewing platform. Unfortunately, we arrived a little too late to complete the park tour as it was closing. We quickly headed to the playground for a few minutes and then were the second to last ones to leave the park.

The evening air was comfortable to be out in, so we followed the Wendels into downtown Wiesbaden for dinner near a park. The kids played at the nearby park while we sat and conversed, enjoying the food and company. It was a great day with friends while enjoying the warm fall weather.
