Today was the first day of school. The outfits were carefully selected along with the hairdos. With excitement and first day jitters, we walked to school a few minutes early. In the school yard, the girls met their friends and waited for the bell. When the bell rang, they returned to the same classroom as last year, except the door signs stated 4a and 2b, respectively.
Adeline's teacher rearranged the room, so there was a little chaos, but they managed to find a seat by their friends. Frau Kühner welcomed them back and then they greeted her by each presenting a flower to her.
In Emmie's class, the children all returned to their desks from last year before Frau Brosch welcomed them. She then told them they could change seats if they wanted. Emmie now sits at the very front of the class as she was kind and moved over one seat so two boys could sit together.
Throughout the morning, both classes rehearsed for their performances tomorrow morning which will welcome the new first classes to school.
The girls were full of smiles when school was over with. Maybe it was because all of their homework was really for me in filling out papers and looking through the newly issued books.
